6 O'clock Gin & Tonic

The classic gin serve!

Prep Time 2 minutes
Servings 1

Ingredients

  • 50 ml 6 O'clock Gin
  • 150 ml Good Quality Tonic Water

Instructions

  1. Take a Copa de Balon glass (or whatever you have to hand) and pour over a generous measure of 6 O'clock Gin. Top with a premium tonic water and add a garnish of your choice. Lemon peel sets off the beautiful citrus notes of the coriander and juniper botanicals. Try adding a spray of elderflower liqueur to your G&T in the summer time, or in the winter months, why not try a Damson G&T with a crisp, dry tonic water and a sprig of rosemary.

Recipe Notes

Dates From: The early 19th Century.
Key Flavours: Bittersweet notes, quinine, juniper & botanicals.
Background: The G&T become popular during the 1800's when the British Empire had people stationed all over the world - often in malaria hotspots. Quinine (extracted from the bark of a cinchona tree) has been know for centuries to be an antimalarial, and the tonic water that was supplied for medicinal purposes was often mixed with gin rations to make it more palatable.
